HOW TO PREVENT STUDENTS FROM CHEATING
If you are a teacher, probably you know that your students are capable of anything, especially when it comes down to cheating in exams. You are a great teacher, are you? You should do your best to make them study hard and prepare them for life. If you let them fool around, they will learn nothing. If you want to make your students' life harder, especially during the tests, here are some tips on how to prevent them from cheating.
1. Monitor your classroom all the time.
Bear in mind that they observe your every move. They are only waiting which way you're gonna move. Some crafty students might look at the teacher,pretending that they are only mulling over the answers. Keep this in mind :)
2. Be in a move
I know there are teachers who are so lazy and prefer sitting at the desk instead walking around the classroom. If you act like that, your students grab this opportunity with both hands and immediately start cheating, especially those sitting at the back desks.
3. Be like a lion
If your student is constantly looking at you, not at his test, there might be a sign for you that he's waiting for the best moment to cheat. What can you do? You can go to his desk and look how he's sweating. Observe any moves, any whispers in your classroom. Even when they only blow their noses, keep your eyes on them.
4. Prepare your own tests
We all know that many teachers don't want to waste time writing test sheets, so they use ready ones. Once or twice, these might save your life, but you have to remember that most of the teacher books are available online, it's easy to download and print the answers for the test. If you have time, you can produce different versions of one test.
5. Go further
These are advanced methods which will make your students struggle against cheating. Before you hand in your tests, you can ask them to show the palm of their hands. If they notice you start from students at front desks, the rest of them will try to rub it down quickly. You can also confiscate their mobile phones and put them into a box on your table. That would be painful for them.
